I'm Going Mostly Friends Only

I've decided to go semi-friends with my journal, because I tend to share personal stuff here.  Anyone is welcome to friend me.  I love making new friends and the more the better, but if you wish for me to friend you back, please leave a comment to this post, so I will know that you are interested in more than just my stories or artwork.

I am a James Marsters fan. I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel the Series. I write fan fiction, Original fiction & Poetry.  Current shows I'm watching are Bones, Torchwood, and Doctor Who, Supernatural, Castle, Dollhouse, Vampire Diaries and The Mentalist.

My fan fiction, fic banners, manips, icons, and a few other posts will still be public. You can find links to my collection of artwork and fan fiction on the right sidebar.

If you're in the U.S., will you watch all or part of the Superbowl? Do you have a favorite team? If you're not American, what do you think about Superbowl Sunday?

I'm more of a basketball fan.  In fact, I didn't understand American football or care to watch for years and years.  Just this year, I sat with my husband twice to watch games.  I bugged him (he loved it) with questions about the rules and how it all works.  I'm slowly starting to understand it.  But, it's still not exciting enough for me.  Games where it takes ages for anyone to score points bore me.  I like action and a lot of it.  There's too much starting and stopping in football, as well.

The game is on right now.  I watched the opening and enjoyed the first few sets of commercials.  Loved the NCSI head slapping one, even if I never watch the show.  The two Dorritos commercials were pretty funny too.  Liked the kid slapping his mother's date more than the dog one.

As far as who I want to win:  My husband's family is from Indiana so he kind of wants them to win, but he says the other team were pretty bad for years and years.  He tends to cheer on the underdogs if he doesn't have a favorite.  I like the blue uniforms.  LOL!

My Shows; My Writing

Here's Looking at U/Damon
Vampire Diaries was just awesome. This show continues to make me happy.  With one exception...I hated Damon's hairstyle in the flashback.  Other than that, I'm in television heaven.  A good story with vampires.  Flashbacks where things are revealed in a satisfying way and not dangled in front of us forever.  Yet the show always leaves me wanting more.  Oh, yeah, and plenty of eye candy.  We can't forget that.

Speaking of...  I loved Damon at the Gilbert household for family night.

My favorite part with pics in the cut )

I enjoyed Supernatural as well.  For once, I believed Jared's acting.  He did a good job conveying emotions when Cut for spoiler )

Writing progress:  I've halted all original writing stuffs to write this fan fiction piece.  I needed this.  It's a creative break where I'm still keeping in practice.  I'm almost done writing chapter five.  I've decided last minute to change the course a bit, so I've having to get the rest of the story all straight in my head.  Had dreams about it last night.

Oh, and I need one more beta for this.  I could use someone who is good at details and spotting plot holes.  Someone who can point out when I need more or less inner thoughts from the characters and someone who is not afraid to tell me when something sucks.  LOL!

Saw this on [info]cafedemonde 's LJ.

Google the song that was the number 1 hit song the day and year you were born. (This may wind up being the week you were born: that's okay!) Post the results!

Or look it up here.

It's a wonder that I have such a positive outlook on life.  LOL!

The Tardis Wave on LJ

Dr.Who Barefoot/Moon
Saw this on [info]jaded_jamie's journal and had to keep the wave going.

When you see this entry, as your eyes pass over these words and you watch Doctor Who, then you have to post a picture (or gif) from Doctor Who, any kind you like, to your own journal, with these words, so that the TARDIS wave can continue...

I put together a blend with mostly Ten and one hilarious pic of Lee Evans thrown in for good measure.

I'm Writing Fic and Challenge Pimp

Her Chosen One ~ Spuffy
I saw the art-to-fic challenge or at [info]spuffy_wonder and couldn't resist making a couple of art banners.  But while checking out the other banners, I got a plot bunny.  So I kept an eye out for when we could choose a banner and snatch it up quick.  There are quite a few banners left, so if you are a writer looking for some inspiration/motivation/whateva, check out the the banners and grab one up.  Art-to-Fic Challenge Signups

Here is the banner I claimed.  It was created by the very talented [info]inxsomniax

And I've already written two and a half chapters!  It's All Human and will have rock star Spike.  :)

Did this for the [info]nekid_spike fic/art tag team.  I was paired up with writer [info]weinerdogsmama and we were given the prompt:  The Ties That Bind.
Here's what I came up with:

If you'd like to read the fic that goes with the banner, you can find it here (if you are a member of [info]nekid_spike).  If not, I'm sure [info]weinerdogsmama will post it to her own journal soon and you can read it there.  :)

[info]mabel_marsters wrote this totally awesome fic for me for Christmas.  She once put my two favorite cars together for a fic with Crash, Bang, Wallop (Dean/Spike).  Now, if she could just fit K.I.T.T. and The General Lee in a fic together, my car crush fic collection would be complete.   And boy am I dating myself by admitting to be a fan of those shows/cars.  Couldn't you just see it?  Michael Knight driving into Hazzard County, Georgia.  K.I.T.T. can open his own doors and the General's doors don't open.  But they both can take jumps without getting damaged!

But this time she put my two favorite vampires together.   If you'd like to see Spike behaving badly (I do love bad boy Spike) and Stefan getting the short end of the stick, check out The Other Bloody Ring.  I made the banner for it.

Thank you, [info]mabel_marsters, for the wonderful present.  *hugs*

I'm going to tackle that gmail task list soon, I swear.  Got to do editing, beta and do some writing.  But I spent the bulk of my morning watch my TV shows.  Will put my thoughts behind cuts for spoilers.

The Bachelor:  Is there something cosmic going on?  And why couldn't I have a cosmic connection to a show with some class, instead of this reality TV show.  Raise your hand if you've ever heard of St. Lucia.   Anyone?  I'm sure someone has heard of it.  But it's a mite obscure.  And yet, a major portion of the novel I wrote and am editing now takes place on the island of St. Lucia.  And guess which exotic location they are going to this season?  ...  You guessed it.  If a certain hotel, volcano and waterfall is featured...well, it would be strange indeed.  And what about last night's episode with the "staffer"?  Read more... )

I really liked all those twists and turns.  And just when it's really getting good, it's canceled.  I HATE that.

But the most exciting moment for me was when Rick Fox was on screen.  LOL!  I knew the former Laker player wanted to act, but that was a fun surprise to see him.  He's one of the best looking pro basketball players ever.  And he was very talented on the court.  Loved him.

Yes...I took the test that everyone else has taken.  It's pretty much right on, except for the part about writing for several fandoms.

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

The Mindgamer

Everything is possible, nothing is ever really over.

Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one.

You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met?

You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies.

Writer's Block: Baby, you can drive my car

Do you have a "dream car"? If you had money to spare, would you buy a new car? If so, would you be more likely to get an eco-friendly vehicle, a vintage model, or a luxury sportscar?

My dream car is a black or dark blue Corvette.  An older model, a '68, maybe,  with the round back lights and more curvy than the newer models.  I do not ever expect to purchase my dream car.

If I had money to spare, I wouldn't buy a new car at this time.  I'd get the windshield repaired on my minivan.

Doctor Who Thoughts

Dr. Who
Well, it's the end of a much loved Doctor for me.  But I'm excited about seeing DT in new roles.  I love the actor.  And I love Doctor Who enough to be excited about a new series with Eleven.  Bring him on!

The last episode was okay.  My fourteen-year-old daughter bawled like a baby for the last thirty minutes of the epi.  LOL!  Then she went out in the living room where my husband had the Laker game on and she got to see the last minute 3 point shot that Kobe made to win the game!  She was all smiles and cheers after that.

My twelve-year-old son was glued to the computer screen.  Thank you, Doctor Who franchise for giving me a vehicle in which I can bond with my two eldest.

Happy New Year!  May this year be filled with wonderful surprises, warmth and love.

I'm hoping for a better year than the last.  I plan to lose more weight, write more words and be more friendly.

What Have U Be Smokin?
LMAO!  I just saw this news article.  If you've read my AH Spuffy story, Not My Reality, then you know why I'm grinning like a fool now.  Fess up!  Who read my story over at ABC and decided that this little stunt might be a good idea to boost ratings for the next season of The Bachelor?

http://insidetv.aol.com/2009/12/29/bachelor-scandal-contestant-cheats-on-jake-with-crew-member/

From the article:

It appears that someone else on the reality TV series -- besides the Bachelor Jake Pavelka himself, that is -- has been getting some loving. A recent ABC promo is teasing scandal, with one woman on the clip dishing that "she's been having this sexual affair with somebody else in the Bachelor house." And while the promo pans to footage of a couple of same-sex contestants frolicking around together, a New York Post report suggests that a 'Bachelor' contestant is actually having an affair with a male member of the reality show's production crew.

Yes, I realize that the world doesn't revolve around me and my ego really isn't big enough to believe that my fanfic story had anything to do with this, but it's still a funny coincidence.  And I liked Jake last season and was rooting for him.  I was watching the show to research as I wrote my story and got hooked on the show!  I'll be watching this season.  Jake's a cutie.
