I'm very excited to be on track for my Nano word count.  It's day three and I have just stopped writing for the night.  My count is 10,039 words.  A few more than what I should be on for today to get 100,000 words written by Nov. 30th.  I was so worried because I'd gotten such a lazy start.  But today, I was on fire.   In between writing, I beta'd four fan fiction chapters for two different authors and I cleaned my house.  Considering that we had another late start due to a wardrobe malfunction at the last minute before leaving for school, I am thrilled that the rest of the day/night went so well.  My wonderful husband even bought pizza so I wouldn't have to cook.

And speaking of my husband -- I love the man, really I do -- but why is it that he always ALWAYS manages to walk on my floors, just where I've mopped it?  The floor is white tile.  Every time he does it, I have to re-do the mopping!  :)  It might have to do with the fact that he follows me around the house, once he gets home.  He loves to talk. 

I've been working on a bunch of icons for various fandoms, but I'd like to have a few more per fandom before I post them.  It's taken me a while, because I had so many screencaps to wade through and delete as I used them or discarded them.  I started to make some from the Torchwood, COE, but I couldn't do it.  I deleted them all.  And I'd had this really great idea to do an animation with all the headlines from TV and newspapers, in the order they aired, but even after all this time, I'm too emotional about the dumb season to do anything artsy with it.  Silly, I know, but there you have it.

I didn't catch V tonight.  Was tempted.  And if I hear good things about the series, I'll add it to my list of shows to watch on download once my other shows go on break.  I remember being quite young, 11, when the first series came out.  I was semi fascinated by it, but I was more into soap operas and shows like Family Ties and Facts of Life.  I remember my parents were really into it.  I'd love to see the original again, before and if I watch the new stuff.

I'm off to a slow start this year.  I have a little less than 3,000 words written today.  I need to have 6,668 words done by the end of the night to stay on track.  I wasn't feeling very motivated, so I went on to the forums to see how other people are doing.  Saw a post there that reminded me how I stayed motivated last year.  I made a desktop wallpaper with a calendar that showed me how many words I should have at the end of every day.  So I took a break from the writing and created a wallpaper and a banner to put in my signature at the forums.

Here is the wallpaper as a screencap from my laptop and the at the wallpaper, just in case someone wants else wants to use it and join me with the goal of writing a 100,000 words in a month.  Click on the images for the full versions.

I do not feel prepared for what I want to do.  Last year I got 70,000 plus words written.  I was hoping to up that to 100,000 this year.  But I was going to do it in a split.  One for my sequel to my Young Adult novel and one for a the Paranormal Romance that I have two chapters written already. 

I'm ready--sort of--with the Young Adult novel.  I have extensive notes and even the chapters sort of planned out.  But I don't feel ready in bones to write it.  Just got this nervousness like a race horse at the gate.  But at the same time, I feel like I'm going to have the book written by 11/30.

I did it last year.  And right now, I have two novels complete.  I know I can do this. 

I'll try not to bore you all with my Nano stats, but I will be posting here regularly with my word count.  I'll try to have other interesting things to say.  And, I feel great that I have One Glorious Summer complete as a rough draft.  One beta has seen all the chapters, a second is very close to having seen them all and the other two are speeding past the half way mark.  So, chapters of the story will be posted here during this month.
